Your Questions About Endometriosis Reccurence

Kelly asks…
vaginal pain when tensing?
Hi,
I keep getting a sharp pain in the right side of my vagina (near opening or just inside – i can’t differentiate) when i sneeze, empty my bowels etc, sometimes even when i walk. Seems to be mainly when tensing those muscles.
I have endometriosis and HPV, could either of these be the causes? if not, what else could it be? I am not pregnant and have no pain during intercourse.
Thanks
I also get a dull pain in my anus and this same place in vagina when i bend over too far. If i have been sitting down for a long time and then stand up i get the same pain in my anus. I suffer from contipation too…

Lisa answers:
Kelly, yes this type of pain could be endometriosis. The endometriosis clusters appear anywhere in abdomen, they grow on bowels, ovaries, fallopian tubes or on the abdominal wall. They can even appear out of the abdominal area, often in lungs or at a face area (I had mine on my nose, imagine!). The endometriosis pain usually gets worse during the ovulation and menstruation and is the most painful at the places where the biggest clusters are.

Sharon asks…
Is it possible my endometriosis came back?
In April I had a laparoscopy and when I woke up the doctor told me that he had found and removed a “small amount of Endometriosis“. Which I guess explains why my periods were getting heavier. Since then I had an abnormal pap and was told I had high risk HPV. I had cryotherapy to remove inflammation to the cervix in July and since then I have gotten a few infections but have been okay otherwise. The thing is that I do often feel like my stomach is bloated after I eat and I feel this like nagging feeling “down there”, kinda like throbbing but not painful (I do work in an office and sit for most of the day though). I also get random pains in my stomach and feel off, and I get very irritated and very tired and somewhat gassy lately (and I stopped drinking coffee and barely drink tea anymore). I even had a night where I bled after sex, that a different doctor said was cervicitis. I just had another pap a few weeks ago and was told by my doctor that it was “slightly abnormal”; probably due to me having a bacterial infection at the time that she had given me a script for after doing the pap, and my HPV came back negative). I guess I am just wondering if all these things happening to me could be because of the Endometriosis coming back. If there is anyone out there that knows about this I would really appreciate any info you can give.

Lisa answers:
Sharon, this seems like a mixed problem. Yes, it is possible that your endometriosis could be back, it is actually very likely. Unfortunately it is one of these diseases that appear again unless you treat the cause. I was told by my doctors years ago that there is no cure and I will have to undergo endometriosis surgery regularly at least every 4 years! Well, I did have several surgeries but then I cured myself by natural treatment. Anyone can do that, it is just about what and who we decide to believe and go for and if we take an active approach regarding our own health.
Your problem seems mixed with the cervix and infections, I would be careful and would want to be supervised by the gyno no matter what you decide to do, as problems with the cervix can bring you very unpleasant future complications (I know that too…).
